Assassin's Creed Reveals Bizarre Attack on Titan Collaboration for Holiday Season
In a surprising partnership that challenges traditional predictions, Ubisoft has unveiled an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering free bonus story content for Shadows players.
Strange Questline Disclosed
According to the authorized release, "A strange encounter leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh quest, where rumors of banned ceremonies and monstrous changes echo through the shadows." The plot introduces a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who tasks the duo with journeying into the Crystalline Cavern—a important location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a secret group.
The mission concentrates on "bizarre tests and a fearsome adversary" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Familiar Places and Changes
The preview highlights the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview ends with a powerful moment showing a character, presumably the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Prizes and Extra Material
Players who accomplish the mission will acquire an special katana alongside multiple objects hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also contains in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-themed attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe

Third Free Story Addition
This release also introduces the game's latest free story episode, titled "The Enigma." This humorous mission partners Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange signature techniques: Naoe introduces a theatrical version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters subduing stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "A Puzzlement" also includes a original environmental puzzle that may finally explain some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
